This policy explains what happens to your information when you visit collinstein.com or book a session with Collinstein Chess Academy. I run this site myself, and I keep this as short and honest as I can rather than padding it out with boilerplate.
When you book a session. If you message me on WhatsApp, call, or email to book a session, I see whatever WhatsApp, your phone provider, or your email service shares with me — typically your name, phone number, or email address. This is handled inside WhatsApp or your email provider, not stored in a separate database on this website.
When you leave a review. The review form on this site is genuinely anonymous. It does not ask for your name, email, or any contact detail, and I do not attempt to identify who submitted a review. Reviews are saved to a private log file on the server that only I can access.
When you browse the site. If you accept cookies through the banner on this site, Google Analytics collects basic usage data — which pages you viewed, roughly where you're visiting from, and what device or browser you're using. This only happens after you accept; if you reject or ignore the banner, this tracking stays off.
I don't sell, rent, or share your information with anyone for marketing purposes.
Booking messages pass through WhatsApp (Meta) or your email provider under their own privacy terms. Site analytics, when you've consented, are processed by Google Analytics under Google's privacy policy. Payments made via M-Pesa are handled directly by Safaricom — I never see or store your card or mobile money account details.
Anonymous reviews stay in the private log until I clear them out. Analytics data follows Google's standard retention settings. Booking conversations live in WhatsApp or your email as long as you keep them there.
Most of my students are children, but bookings and payments are handled by a parent or guardian, not the child directly. I don't knowingly collect information directly from children through this website.
You can ask me what information I hold about you, or ask me to delete it, by emailing info@collinstein.com. Since anonymous reviews carry no identifying information, I generally can't match a specific review back to a person to delete it individually — if that's something you need, let me know and I'll do what I reasonably can.
If anything material changes about how this site handles your information, I'll update this page and change the date at the top.
